HONDA CIVIC EK 1.5
DNA PROJECT CAR

PREVIOUS UPDATE

So, it has been some time since I last posted what is happening to the car. After fitting the new lights I found some Tanabe Coilovers which needed new springs on the famous eBay which I won for a steal.

Then, after some looking, I got some 450lb springs for the front and 350lb springs for the back. After fitting them all together had myself some nice Coilovers for under £90.

After fitting the handling has changed so much for the better could not believe it then came the time for the MOT.
Oh dear... the car failed on being too loud... and emissions... and the damn lights! So off down the scrap yard and got two standard lights and took the PJ Performance manifold off and put the cat back on. Funny thing is it feels like the car has got more power.

Then, Japfest was coming so what to do? Another track time and had to get rid of some more weight and had the vinyl that I have had for about a year that needed to go on.

The vinyl man came around and done his stuff which changed the whole look of the car and found a fibreglass bonnet in Scotland which I got for £60 and a pair of harnesses for the inside.

Bonnet turned up three days before Japfest so I had to pull my finger out to get it sprayed and fitted in time. Well, after it was all done I did not like the rear bumper so out came the saw. It made it look a lot better.

Well, Japfest is over for another year so what now? Well over time I have been getting parts as I was going down the turbo route but then one night it came to me... h22!!! Yep, that's right. A 2.2 out of a Honda Prelude. 240bhp standard.... mmmmmmm.

So the list of parts so far:
Engine mounts
Drive shafts custom made 550bhp
Magnetic drain plug

And that was all for under £200. I do love eBay! And this was how it stood for some time. Then, after Japfest 2011, I got a call that I could pick up a Prelude that had a bang up the back. 2.2 auto! Job done and all for £150.

Big thanks to Jason that I kidnapped for 9.1/2 hours to get it.

Prelude

The good thing was the week before I went to London to get another 2.2 engine, manual gearbox, ECU, gearbox linkage and gear stick all for £51 thanks again eBay!

Vtec just kicked in

So here are two pictures of the car to date but will soon change again. Come back soon and see what's next.
